Berean Group is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer, Analytics for its end client

Location: Kansas City, KS

Duration: Fulltime

Job Description:

The primary duties of the Software Engineer consist of the following:

Summary:

• Analysis: Work alongside quantitative analysts who simulate and test economic relationships within a very large dataset of consumer behavior in the online marketing industry.
• Solutions: Translate learnings from simulations and analysis into system concepts and computer algorithms that form the core of behavior-targeted analytic products which increase the effectiveness of real-time ad delivery and campaign selection systems.
• Troubleshooting: Analyze and troubleshoot our proprietary targeting system to optimize revenue across multiple channels of business.
• Implementation: Server as a technical resource for the statisticians in establishing appropriate implementation priorities.

Additional duties include:

• Collaborate closely with statisticians on the team to implement machine learning algorithms used for production systems.

Required Skills:

• 3-5 years software engineering experience in the internet industry in a *nix environment
• Experience with multiple languages; Perl, PHP, Python, Java as well as understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each;
• Experience interfacing with RDBMS systems (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres) using SQL;
• Additional experience areas which contribute key advantages to the team:
• Has had experience in distributed computing, e.g. MapReduce, Hadoop, AWS, DHTs, etc.
• Industry experience working with very large datasets.
• Prior experience in online advertising.
• Additional work experience or academic focus in operations research, graph analysis, behavioural modelling, demographic analysis.
• Degree in Computer Science, or related areas. Equivalent work experience is also acceptable.
