SQL Programmer Needed for Premier Client

 CTG is searching for an Expert SQL (manual SQL) Statement Writer for a key client in North Austin to perform data mining activities.  This will be a long term W2 contract position for a small development team within a Fortune 50 company.  We are considering strong database developers, DBA’s, and/or business intelligence specialists who feel they have exceptional SQL query writing abilities.    All candidates *MUST* be able to maneuver comfortably in a UNIX environment in order to be considered.

Project Type / Duration: W2 contract - 12 months initial P.O. – position is ongoing in nature

Project Location: Austin, TX (Domain Area).

Project Description: Primary duties will involve writing complex SQL statements and heavy data mining activities.  Will be charged with digging through data to develop summary tables.   He or she will 'churn' and analyze data in the current Decision Support Services (DSS) database. 

Required Skills:         

• The ideal candidate will have worked in large database environments and will have very strong, complex, SQL development skills.  
• Must be able to write complex SQL or custom SQL statements from scratch.  Client environment is DB2 / AIX.
• Must be able to incorporate heavy amounts of logic within 1 single select, complex, SQL statement in order to work within client’s framework.
• Candidate must have strong communication skills, good documentation, and must work well in a small team.   
• Must have worked in a large database environment and be able to operate in a UNIX environment.  DB2 is a plus but not required.  Other helpful skills will be ksh, Perl, C.
• Must be able to provide an example of a complex SQL Statement, that you have written, along with your resume
