PLA is seeking a Desktop Virtualization (VDI) Architect at our Chicago HQ (downtown) to help us to grow our Managed Solutions Group.  This technical position will be responsible for Virtualization Assessments, design, implementation, upgrade, and ongoing health and maintenance of existing clients with Citrix & other virtual implementations.

This individual will lead client engagements, help drive growth in pipeline , develop and maintain Reference Architectures, provide subject matter expertise in delivering solutions, and provides technical expertise and solutions support throughout the sales process.  

Skill Requirements

• Technical Skills: Citrix XenDesktop / Citrix XenApp / VMware View / Citrix XenServer/ Windows RDS and RemoteApp / VMware ESX Server / ThinApp / App-V / Hyper-V

Skills Required:

• Implementation, Administration and troubleshooting experience in Citrix systems including Presentation Server 4.0 or higher and associated Access Suite products
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy on Windows 2003/2008/2008 R2 Server
• Application integration experience including scripting, registry, application packaging, and other related application integration and troubleshooting skills
• Citrix Presentation Server 4.0/4.5 and XenApp 5.0/6.0 experience, Citrix Edgesight, Citrix Access Gateway a plus
• VMWare/XenServer/Hyper-V experience a requirement
• Hands on experience with virtualization and desktop virtualization products including VMware View, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp, App-V, ThinApp, Citrix Streaming, SVS, Provisioning Server, Appsense, RTO, Tricerat, Liquidware Labs
• Expertise with Windows OS (XP,7,Server 2003,Server 2008) and Active Directory
• Experience packaging and deploying applications in a XenApp, terminal server or VDI environment
• Knowledge of Datacenter infrastructure including DNS, pxe, dhcp, NTP, SMTP, MS Exchange, AntiVirus, Security

Certifications:

• Citrix CCA certification minimum, CCAA/CCEA preferable
• Citrix CCA XenApp 4.5
• Citrix CCA XenApp 5 preferred
• Citrix CCEA, CCEE, CCIA Preferred
• VMware VCP 4 preferred
• VMware Infrastructure Competency preferred
• VMware Business Continuity Competency preferred
• MCITP – Virtualization Administration preferred
• Microsoft certifications a plus
