Job Description
Company Job Title:                Strategic Price-to-Win Analyst

Reports To:                             VP of Business Operations
FLSA Status:                           Exempt
 
Summary:
The Strategic Price-to-Win Analyst holds primary responsibility for providing leadership and key support on price-to-win (PTW) development activities to support strategic growth initiatives and targeted business development pursuits.  This position reports to the VP of Business Operations and interfaces with all organizational functional areas, Business Development, Marketing and subsidiary leadership, BD and Capture personnel.

Specific responsibilities include:  
 
Strategic Growth:
  • Conduct market research and competitive assessment initiatives to mine, develop and maintain competitive intelligence databases containing cost and pricing data to foster growth within core technology areas and/or emerging markets.
  • Participate in competitive assessment and market research activities to identify potential competitors for targeted business development pursuits.
 
Price-to-Win Analysis / Strategic Pricing:
  • Employ top-down and bottoms-up PTW methodologies to perform pricing and labor rates analyses and/or strategic pricing initiatives on competitive contracts ranging in size from $25M to over $250M by creating estimates/predictions of prospective competitors based on individual competitor knowledge gained through Competitive Intelligence research.
  • Develop and recommend pricing strategies using parametric cost modeling tools to effectively compete against competitors predicted pricing.  
 
Business Development/Capture Management
  • Support business development/capture management activities for targeted pursuits through participation in Gate Reviews, “Win” strategy workshops, “Black Hat” competitive assessments, and Pricing reviews as required.
 
 
 
Proposal Development
  • Interface with Cost volume and Basis of Estimate leads to support development of pricing strategies and proposal volumes as well as participate in proposal Color reviews to ensure 100% compliance with all proposal instructions and evaluation criteria.  
  • Provide expert analysis of contract risk factors and cost and pricing alternatives.
 
Process Documentation
  • Serve as the organizational knowledge expert for all PTW analysis products and processes by supporting development of content templates, as required for inclusion in Business Development processes, products, tools, templates, and job aids necessary to support organizational transformation and continuous process improvement.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
 
Supervision:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

  • Position may require unscheduled extended work hours and non-standard workweeks.
  • Some travel may be required in support of proposal activities.
 
Education and/or Experience:
  • BS/BA degree in Business, Finance, or related field required
  • Possess a minimum of 10 years successful professional experience in federal contract price competitions with a minimum of 5 years Price-to-Win experience to include working knowledge of all contract types including FFP, CPFF, CPAF, T&M and IDIQ contracting
  • Demonstrated experience in pricing strategy based on knowledge of competitor behaviors, exposure to Government Cost Accounting Principles and the FAR
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and utilizing competitive intelligence
  • Familiarity with a diverse range of customers including but not limited to, Federal, DoD and international is preferred.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Federal budgets and budget cycle to include indirect rate structures, cost centers, etc

Computer Skills:
