Sr Manufacturing Engineer (medical devices) (closed)
This position requires Mechanical Engineering experience with disposable medical devices such as catheter and stent manufacturing.
Process development, and optimization, e.g., soldering, braiding, lamination, hot box thermoforming, adhesive bonding, mechanical assembly.
Analyze and solve problems related to equipment and manufacturing processes.
Scrap reduction / yield improvement. Also interacts and resolves technical issues with suppliers.
Interacts cross-functionally with internal customers.
Write manufacturing process instructions and Project Management responsibilities.
Equipment and fixture development including: CAD, Solid Works, Installation Qualification & Software validation
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Required and minimum of 5 years experience Medical Device Manufacturing Engineering.
Must have Process development control and work with Catheter manufacturing but mostly good process control experience.
Mechanical Engineer experience with disposable medical devices such as catheter and stent manufacturing. Background in Capital Equipment environment is less desirable.
Experience with equipment design but not maintenance.
Understanding of material properties, e.g. polymers and stainless steel.
Six Sigma, statistics, Design of Experiment (DOE) and Automation experience.
Project Management experience on MS Project or Critical Change preferred.
Six Sigma, DOE, Black/Green/Yellow Belt a huge plus.
Position requires strong presence on the manufacturing floor providing support, troubleshooting issues and working to optimize processes.
This is a hands-on manufacturing support engineer position.
