Job Description

This is Contract – to – Hire position

Note: Candidate can be located anywhere in NJ / NY / CT / MA. The area you live in (NJ / NY / CT / MA) will be the primary service area focus. However, depending on business need you will be tasked with working anywhere in company’s service area Maine to Maryland and across the country as necessary. Qualified candidate needs to be willing to travel anywhere in that foot print and beyond.

•Post-sale installation, optimization, maintenance, and management of mobile communication systems. Focuses on maintaining optimal performance levels across an integrated system. Performs system hardware and software installation and optimization. Manages system availability through routine system maintenance and performance monitoring.
•Supports the telco interfaces of larger systems as well as the LAN/WAN and Microwave networking links. Multi-site trunked systems, integrated network systems, and communication hubs.
•Provides primary point of contact for 2-5 customer sites that require end-to-end performance monitoring and management. May also be dedicated support providing system maintenance or management for a single customer.
•Coaches others in troubleshooting with computer based tools.

Required Skills:
Must have Land Mobile Radio (LMR) experience as well as good RF exp.
•Understands SmartZone Trunking, Secure, and Client-Server Networking concepts.
•Understands technology, system interfaces, and functionality of the system. Understands requirements of system optimization, verification, and audit testing in ensuring system performance. Ability to instruct others in the technical aspects of the system.
•Advanced knowledge of computer systems and Intermediate knowledge networking. Ability to use computer to perform diagnostics remotely or locally across a network. Ability to learn to use computer operating systems and common application for characterizing and resolving issues for multiple technologies. (Example: Unix, DOS, NT, Windows 98 and 2000).
•Intermediate knowledge of hardware and software tools available for both RF and Networking. Investigates opportunities to use new tool solutions.
•Associates Degree or Technical certificate or military training or Project Management certification and 6 years technical work experience
