NetEffects is seeking a Business Analyst/Developer  

Our client has an opening for a Business Analyst/Developer.  This position is responsible for analyzing business problems, interacting directly with internal customers, capturing and documenting business requirements, developing and testing small business applications, and providing application training to internal customers as necessary.  The successful candidate will facilitate meetings to discuss business and technical requirements with both technical and non-technical parties.  This role is the owner of project tasks which requires tracking and advancing the project tasks through all stages of the project life-cycle from assignment to implementation. 

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business representatives to clearly define and document business requirements that impact the IT organization.
• Review business requirements with other development teams, infrastructure, and testing teams to confirm understanding of business needs.
• Develop small applications and forms, perform unit testing, and participate in integration testing.
• Prepare release instructions to ensure smooth release to all environments including production.
• Verify successful implementation of deliverables into testing and production environments and troubleshoot issues when applicable.
• Adhere to the organization’s software development lifecycle methodology.
• Provide hour estimates to complete tasks in advance of starting tasks.

Qualifications:

• BS/BA Information Technology, Computer Science/Engineering, or similar work experience.  Minimum three years experience as a business analyst, eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and translating business requirements into functional system specifications and/or use cases.
• Has the ability to independently drive issue resolution, develop business knowledge and relationships, and apply technical alternatives while operating in a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent task coordination, time management, and prioritization skills.  Exhibits problem solving and negotiation skills.  Proven skills as a self-starter.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stake-holders.  Demonstrates an ability to learn and acquire new technologies as needed.
• Demonstrates a strong knowledge of Microsoft tools like Excel and Access in order to develop and deploy small applications or forms with agility.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities yet stay focused on delivering top priorities.
• Demonstrates a desire to create standardized documentation for consistency and re-usability in all aspects of a project. Experience following a structured project life-cycle methodology.  Proven ability to follow a change control process.
• Previous experience working with customer operations or commercial sales business users a plus.
• Previous experience working independently with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visual Basic to deploy custom tools for business users a plus.
