JOB SUMMARY:
 
The Senior Front End Web Developer will be responsible for developing and updating dynamic web sites for Sallie Mae properties, applications and tools.   The Developer is responsible for working with project managers, stakeholders and designers to build custom websites and to maintain existing enterprise web systems. This includes HTML, CSS, Javascript  coding, and assisting in the QA, testing and publishing of the websites. The Front End Web Developer will also assist in providing design support as needed. The position requires architecting and designing front end client code that can be easily adapted and utilizes industry and web best practices. Ideally, the candidate will be someone who is excited about new trends in development and technology and utilizes that excitement to build creative solutions that are easy to use. 
 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 years product design, graphic design, and web design experience.
- Knowledge of online media technologies.
- Adobe / Macromedia products including Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Windows / Mac OS
- Visio
- Experience using HTML5, JavaScript / XML / CSS3 / JQuery ASP or server-side scripting
- BA in design related field. i.e. graphic / information / multimedia
- Experience designing sites and applications for use on multiple platforms and browser types
- Understanding of industry best practices for SEO and front-end development
 
ESSENTIAL SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE:

Adobe PhotoShop
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe DreamWeaver
Adobe Flash
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
- Understanding of large scale content management systems a bonus
- Familiar with xml / xsl
- Experience working with .asp code

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

- Must provide good examples of user interface design and information architecture
- Must provide examples good example of Web design work
- Must understand how to produce industry-leading standards in front-end development including sensitivity to SEO and usability
