Job Description

Summary:

Our client is one of the most notable retailers of books and publications. They are currently seeking a contract position to assist the Director and Buyer for the department with various tasks. This is a very diverse role with several touch points providing great exposure within the growing organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with all merchandising functions including sample organization and purchase order buy sheet data entry
  • Communicate with both external and internal stakeholders
  • Report management and distribution
  • Scheduled and ad hoc reporting on title/subcategory/category/subject recaps
  • Calendar management
  • Misc maintenance and organization issues and processes as needed

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years professional experience
  • Previous assistant buyer and/or merchandising buying office experience
  • Familiarity with merchandising systems
  • Background in data entry management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong Excel skills with emphasis on v-lookup functions and other complex spreadsheet functions
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Articulate, professional, flexible and poised
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic

Pay:  $15/hour
