Job Description
Summary:
Our client is one of the most notable retailers of books and publications. They are currently seeking a contract position to assist the Director and Buyer for the department with various tasks. This is a very diverse role with several touch points providing great exposure within the growing organization.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with all merchandising functions including sample organization and purchase order buy sheet data entry
- Communicate with both external and internal stakeholders
- Report management and distribution
- Scheduled and ad hoc reporting on title/subcategory/category/subject recaps
- Calendar management
- Misc maintenance and organization issues and processes as needed
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 years professional experience
- Previous assistant buyer and/or merchandising buying office experience
- Familiarity with merchandising systems
- Background in data entry management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong Excel skills with emphasis on v-lookup functions and other complex spreadsheet functions
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Articulate, professional, flexible and poised
- Dependable with a strong work ethic
