Our client is currently seeking an experienced MS Database Developer to be based in their Software Development centre in Belfast.

The Database Developer role involves:

• Working with IS and business customers from conception to implementation of solutions
• Participant in the development and presentation of strategic data warehouse strategies
• Building of Data manipulation and transformation processes from operation data stores
• Data modelling for commercial applications from system requirements
• Becoming key player in our company wide Information Management group
• Working across application development teams under aggressive deadlines
• Stored Procedure and Trigger design, development and optimisation
• Mentoring and support of junior team members as required

The ideal candidate must have:
• A degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline is highly desirable
• Proven background in  similar commercial role
• Significant, practical experience of:
At least one mainstream RDBMS (e.g. MS SQL Server, UDB/DB2, SYBASE, ORACLE)
SQL -  experience of writing stored procedures
Application Reporting Tools
High volume databases servicing large numbers of concurrent users
• Good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Skilled in planning and management of scope of work and time estimation
• Database design and construction experience
• Business intelligence experience
