Job Description
Technical hands-on responsibilities include:
- Taking delivery of servers from Network Operations
- Installing and configuring IIS
- Working with vendors to install and configure apps (server or web)
- Installing upgrades on server applications
- Work with DBA integrating applications with SQL Server
Other responsibilities include:
- Creating Technical Specifications
- System Diagrams
- Technical Processes
- User Processes
- Working with Security to develop security processes
- High Availability/DR
- Work with QA prior to deployment of applications
Responsibilities:

Contribute to the daily workflow and planning, development, integration, testing, deployment and troubleshooting of major systems such as, but not limited to, Document Management, Financial/Billing, Matter Management, Customer Relationship Management, Docket Management, Collaboration and Content Management

Contribute to the daily workflow and planning, development, integration, testing, deployment and troubleshooting of the Office Suite, related document authoring, comparison and/or workflow applications and all department/group/individual specific applications in the environment

Work with the legal and administrative staff to understand system needs and assess, coordinate and oversee software initiatives as they relate to application and system support in the Firm

Work with third party application/system vendors to implement, upgade, assess major software applications, and resolve technical issues to meet business requirements

Work with Software Support group to determine application and/or system lifecycles to include installation, configurations, standard operating, auditing and system restoration procedures as well as recommendation to maintain, consolidate, retire or implement systems as they directly impact the Firm?s day to day business

Provide technical assistance and support to IT as well as to the end-user as appropriate. Support may be delivered in the form of documentation and/or direct communication. Additional support duties may include:

Provide high level software break/fix support for web based applications
-
Assist Support Services in advanced software troubleshooting
-
Work with third party application/system vendors to assess and resolve issues
-
Respond to high priority requests received via the Help Desk and maintain agreed upon service levels to client
-
Manage tickets in the Software Integration queue and provide updates to the Help Desk
-

Help maintain architectural and lifecycle roadmaps of all software and related systems, including but not limited to, documenting and maintaining integration standards
-
Interact with clients on system-related issues and is able to reconcile competing priorities
-
Consult with management, stakeholders and program managers to identify, develop and implement development and integration process improvements to achieve new capabilities and benefits for clients

Participate in IT enterprise-wide standards and policy development
-
Serve on enterprise-wide IT planning committees
-
Keep abreast of industry direction and innovations
-
Serve on committees and task forces and undertake special projects as assigned
-
May also function as a project resource manager, managing the schedule, budget, scope and human resources of IT projects and initiatives to ensure timely progress and quality of work performed. Work with requestor to develop a mutual understanding of the projects resource requirements, analyze the requirements in light of current demands for the type of resource, the necessary skill level and the availability of the resource; may recommend re-prioritizing existing commitments given new demands and/or competing needs for the same resource
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:

Requires Bachelor?s degree in computer information systems, business administration or related field

Additional relevant experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year for year basis

Requires a minimum of three years experience on various system implementation projects focusing on Collaboration and Content Management Implementations
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
-
Experience in planning, development, integration, testing, deployment and troubleshooting major systems such as, but not limited to, Document Management, Financial Billing, Matter Management, Customer Relationship Management, Docket Management, Collaboration and Content Management

Experience in planning, development, integration, testing, deployment and troubleshooting the Office Suite, related document authoring, comparison and/or workflow applications and all department/group/individual specific applications in a legal environment

Experience in the planning, development, integration, testing, deployment and troubleshooting of issues related to application integration with MOSS 2007/2010
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate work groups

Advanced technical knowledge of Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 6.0/7.0

Knowledge of general aspects of the system development life-cycle

Considerable knowledge of capabilities of information technology software, hardware and network communication technology

Knowledge of the capabilities of various computer platforms functioning in centralized, distributed, client server, and stand alone environments

Considerable knowledge of effective processes, methods and techniques to support business operations

Skill in communicating technical ideas clearly and translating user information requirements for effective system use

Skill in communicating the impact of new technologies to the business

Ability to accomplish objectives in light of an understanding of the organizational dynamics at play; and, to discern how support initiatives relate to a hierarchy of larger undertakings

Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires a comprehensive understanding of hardware/software systems solutions

Experience in software development and system planning/analysis is preferred
