Job Description
A period of up to 15 years is considered necessary to gain this experience. 
 
General Accountabilities
·       Responsible for the Desktop Systems Management Team.
·       Provide Leadership to a team of Information Technology Professionals delivering Desktop services in the following areas; Desktop Images, Software Packaging and Deployment, OS patching and virus protection, User management, Active directory Policies and logon scripts, 3rd level support and project work in support desktop changes such as OS and major software upgrades
·       Provide input and direction on Asset Management activities.
·       Provide technical Road Maps and innovation solutions for new sales and or project activities
·       Assist resources, drive tasks and activities to the critical path.
·       Mentor the technology staff; keep them abreast of the latest evolutions in technology
·       Establish and maintain good customer relations,  comfortable working with C level clients
·      
 Specific Accountabilities:
·       Provide strategic direction and leadership to effectively plan, develop and implement information systems to ensure the productive use of information technology across our various clients.
·       Develop strategy and provide integrated data, systems and technology for effective and efficient use of information technology for various customers'.
·       Ensure a consistent environment by representing any or all business units within various customers' Corporate information management initiatives on technology framework, standards, connectivity and services.
·       Negotiate and administer Information Technology-related service contracts as necessary to ensure high reliability of critical systems for various customers.
·       Develop a framework for the management of the IM infrastructure across various customers to ensure cost effective business solutions and to enable integration.
·       Supervise and manage a group of systems specialists responsible for system support and enhancements

·       Expert knowledge of information technology in the utility industry.
·       Broad experience in large global IT distributed environments.
·       Sound knowledge of business processes and related configuration.
·       Experience in planning, scheduling, assigning, directing and monitoring work to provide functional supervision to unit staff on an ongoing basis.
·       Expert knowledge of Desktop Management processes, and industry best practices.
·       Working knowledge of the following technologies.

·                              Image Management (MDT, Altiris and ghost)
·                              Microsoft Systems Management 2003, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager SCCM 2007
·                              Microsoft Key Management Server

·                              ITIL Foundation

·       University degree or professional designation in computer science, or equivalent.
