A Senior Account Executive is responsible for profitablegrowth in the development of prospective client, and the maintenance of existing, high quality accounts. Reporting to the head of marketing and account management for the Individual Product Division (IPD).
The following are the key 5 primary accountabilities of the position: ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT – Accountable for overall management of client relationships for assigned accounts. Monitor financial results and support services provided, as defined in client service plans, to ensure both corporate objectives and client service expectations are met or exceeded. Demonstrate competency is interactions with senior management, both internally and with clients. Conduct periodic comprehensive reviews of accounts, including client service plan deliverables, to address any
issues and communicate the results both internally andwith clients. Working with the pricing and risk managementteam, develop renewal plans and communicate decisions.Aggressively pursue additional reinsurance opportunities with assigned clients. Manage contractual agreements
(treaties) between us and assigned clients.
NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT – Responsible for a defined list of prospective clients; aggressively pursue new profitable GSD business. Identify and understand primary insurance trends for a specific line of business and develop a marketing strategy for assigned companies.
Interact with key decision makers at prospective companies to discuss the solutions. Coordinate activities with the pricing and risk management teams. Prepare and deliver presentation materials to demonstrate value proposition; develop and present complex reinsurance proposals, and organize and lead finalist presentations.
PRODUCT & SERVICE DEVELOPMENT – Research and understand primary insurance market products and determine gaps in capabilities of clients and prospects; engage internal resources to explore new and creative product and service offerings. Leverage GRL research capabilities and resources as appropriate. Support clients with new product/service launch.
INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP – Actively participate in key industry groups, associations, etc. Contribute as an industry expert in important industry discussions, working groups, or committees. Participate at key industry events and conferences as a presenter, moderator, or facilitator. Demonstrate competency as a product leader with industry
peers.
COMMUNICATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS – Proactively communicate pertinent information to client team members and senior management; knows when to seek advice and counsel from other associates and/or
manager. Timely and accurately document account activities in Salesforce; conduct timely follow ups with clients and prospect, both verbally and in writing, as appropriate.
Position Requirements/Experience/Education:
- Actuarial professional with at least an ASA designation, with established industry profile and proven ability to effectively manage relationship with clients, prospects and internal management.
- Comprehensive Individual life insurance knowledge, with exposure to other product lines including: Critical illness insurance, Disability Income, Group Life & AD&D, and/or Long Term Care.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills
with public speaking experience.
- Strong negotiation and strategic thinking skills.
- Advanced organization and multi-tasking skills.
- 10 years of Life insurance experience with exposure to
other insurance disciplines, such as, underwriting,
claims, and administrative functions would be a plus.
