Maintenance Supervisor (closed)
Experis Engineering is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor responsible for ensuring safe and quality execution of maintenance work at the plant, enabling reliable operation of all equipment in the refinery, waste-water treatment, tank farm, truck and rail loading facilities.
This is a direct hire opportunity in the Bay Area.
The MS is the owner of maintenance work process-prioritization-planning, scheduling and executing maintenance work. The MS ensures all safe work practices are followed-safe work permits, lock-out, tag out (LOTO), hot work permits, confined space entry and others. The MS ensures maintenance and a procedure are followed, directs execution of preventative and predictive maintenance tasks, and audits maintenance work for quality and timely completion. The MS and team provide support to projects and turnaround execution. The MS and team play a key role in executing much of the plant-wide mechanical integrity program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage direct reports performance-set expectations, train, audit performance and give feedback
Ensure the Maintenance Team has the right capabilities; close capability gaps
Ensure timely and quality execution of safety instrumented systems tests and corrective actions when needed.
Ensure execution of certain inspection, testing and preventive maintenance (ITPM) tasks
Direct predictive and preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks for Maintenance, support PPM tasks in Operations
Owner of the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for the plant
Support root cause analysis (done by the plant ME) on all mechanical failures, identify and execute corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Direct internal employees and contractor maintenance for all routine maintenance and support project field execution as needed
Develop, implement and execute all maintenance turnarounds
The MS reports directly to the Production Manager, leader of both the operations and maintenance teams at the Plant. Reporting to the MS are the head mechanic and a team of 5 technicians, plant electrician, the plant instrument technician, and the maintenance planner/scheduler/buyer.
REQUIRED:
BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
10 years refining or similar processing plant experience
5 years minimum in a supervisory, management or leadership role
Instrument or electrical experience
Inspection and QA/QC experience
