Job Description:

Client is looking for a BI Architect. Information Technology provides services across the province with respect to the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of technology investments to support corporate and clinical departments. Major initiatives are identified through IT strategic planning and capital planning processes. Data Management is key themes Health System IT Plan and will have an increasing focus to help client deliver better health services. Within this plan, the IT Architecture Services team is looking for a Business Intelligence Architect. The BI Architect will play a key role in the delivery of large projects or programs and is responsible for overall system architecture of the projects and programs which drive strategic transformational change for client. While there is a focus on Business Intelligence, the Architect within Architecture Services is expected to manage across four architecture domains: business, application, information & technology with a focus on the last three as an area

of scope. They are also responsible for managing individuals that may be responsible for specific dimensions of the architecture of the solution that require specialized expertise or effort.

Please note that the location for this position is negotiable within Alberta.

Job Qualifications:

•Minimum 10 years of experience (usually 15+ years depending on scope and complexity of experience)

•Proven experience in design and development of large, complex applications or systems with a focus on Business Intelligence

•TOGAF or other enterprise architecture knowledge desirable but not mandatory

•Application to expert level knowledge of industry best practices with respect to business intelligence architecture including application of main industry tools like: Oracle, Informatica and Microsoft

•Applied management skills within either project (PMI) and/or operational (ITIL) disciplines

•Able to effectively identify opportunities to apply technology to health services opportunities which enable transformational change to business and clinical processes

•Mature communications skills - able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, from manager to executive level; strong facilitation and negotiation skills

•Ability to design systems in a multi-stakeholder environment

•Creative problem solving and design skills

•Can effectively work in a multi-tier organization structure
