Controller

The Corporate Controller will have a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic.  This is a high visibility position with an opportunity to make an impact on the continued growth and success of the company.

Requirements

• Solid experience with accounting and controls and regulatory compliance
• Relevant experience working for a medium sized growth-oriented company with sales to retail chains.  Preference for some cost accounting background in agriculture or manufacturing.
•  ERP experience required –Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred
• Experience producing financial statements and presenting results to senior management
• Deadline-oriented with a focus on adhering to set process and procedures
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Hands on management style; readiness to make immediate impact
• Team builder / team leader - ability to provide clear direction to the department while also functioning as an individual contributor
• Ability to travel to other locations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to lead the accounting group which is based in several offices
• Intellectually curious by nature and likes to ask probing questions
• Ability to lead internal business processes by holding people accountable to deliver agreed upon results
• Experience in continuous process improvement to increase efficiencies
• Experience with IFRS preferred

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Current CPA required (no exceptions)
• 2 years of experience at a national or large regional public accounting firm preferred
• Minimum 10+ years accounting and finance experience which must include public company experience
• Previous Controller experience highly desirable
