Job Description

Position: Oracle Developer

Duration: 8 Month Contract

Rate: $55.83/HR

 

We are looking for an experienced Oracle developer. The candidate should have very good knowledge in PL/SQL, SQL and Oracle database development including stored procedures, database triggers and database packages. The candidate must have more than 5+ years of development experience in Oracle forms and reports. The candidate should have good UNIX experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for this position.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, develop, analyze and implement database applications and database objects
  • Write or update code documentation, implementation instructions and integration tests for applications. Produce technical documentation in accordance with SDLC guidelines
  • Communicate with both technical and non-technical groups on a regular basis to pass along important information and to ensure the design and implements are understood by all parties
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, optimize and improve existing database applications and database objects
  • Develop Oracle forms and reports
  • Develop database procedures and packages
  • Develop UNIX shell scripts
  • Optimize the existing jobs using SQL/PLSQL tuning methodologies

 

Required Skills:

  • BS or MS in Computer science or related area
  • At least 5 years of experience with Oracle forms and reports
  • At least 5 years of experience with Oracle database, SQL/Pl-SQL
  • Solid background with UNIX system. Should be very comfortable in writing shell scripts
  • Knowledge of .NET, Informatica, PERL, or Java will be a big plus
  • Familiarity with XML and web services is good to have but not mandatory
  • Some knowledge of the brokerage industry is a must for this position
  • Should be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Solid analytical and communicational skills
  • Good documentation and writing skills
