ESPN is seeking a Web Developer II who will be responsible for the end-to-end technical design and implementation of ESPN mobile messaging projects (SMS, application based notifications, mobile web and web design).
This is an exciting role for a passionate sports fan with a can-do attitude. The successful candidate will work with a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Designers, Engineers and Editors to create and manage the industry’s best mobile sports experiences. We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology, product development and sports.

Responsibilities
Hands-on coding primarily using server side scripting languages, as well as HTML, CSS, JavaScript (AJAX/JSON) Lead the development of multiple mobile web sites, downloadable applications, data feeds, integrations of community/social features, and fantasy games Work with Product Managers, Editors and Information Architects to define new product requirements, features, and functionality Author specifications, technical design documents, and support/troubleshooting guides Collaborate with Product Managers, Editors and Information Architects to define new product requirements, features, and functionality

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on development experience in a professional environment, working with a structured programming language such as C/C++, Javascript, ASP, JSP, PHP, etc Strong understanding of object-oriented programming fundamentals and multi-tier web architectures

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of work experience, preferably with a consumer-oriented company developing highly-scalable products

Required Education
BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related computer science degree
