Job Title: Senior Java Developer Consultant (also Lead and Mid-level roles are available)

Responsibilities:

Flexibility for off-site work for this position – 2-3 days a week OFFSITE/FROM HOME after initial ramp up period. 

The Senior Developer works within project teams, implementing robust and efficient code against a design in a timely manner. There is frequent liaison across the business, but specifically with business analysts, the team lead and other developers. Some client interaction is required and the role has visibility across the business and externally. 

• Deep understanding of Core Java and SQL and can produce code that is robust, performs well and is reusable 
• Develops to standards and understands the impact of changes across the product 
• Has a solid understanding of payments and seeks to expand that knowledge 
• Works to deadlines and can escalate issues effectively 
• Discusses aspects of the design with the architect, team lead and business analysts to check understanding and raise concerns 
• Writes functional tests to our framework 
• Provides production support and can resolve issues when required 

Qualifications:

• 4+ years Java and 2+ years JEE, which must be recent 
• 2+ years Oracle or other RDBMS experience 
• 1+ years XML 
• Must have experience of Application Servers. Weblogic or WebSphere is desirable 
• Experience with payments or banking is desirable, but not essential 
• Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable within the banking environment
