Our newly formed organization (Operational Excellence and Process Transformation) is designed to improve the value Verizon delivers to its customers, employees and shareowners by identifying and implementing process improvements that will create a more efficient, effective and agile company.
The Sr. Consultant, Change Management is responsible for enabling the execution of the Verizon's strategic initiatives by providing high quality Change Execution products and services to project teams implementing change initiatives. Specifically, the incumbent will work closely with project teams to surface and facilitate mitigation of change execution risks, ensure that human aspects of the change are considered to foster commitment, minimize resistance, and align culture, and engage the project teams in discussion and decision-making to create a simple, collective vision of the desired end state.
Responsibilities:
• Change Planning & Implementation
– Develop and implement change management strategy and plan
– Regularly evaluate risks; develop and deliver solutions to address
– Establish impact assessments to articulate delta between current behaviors and future behaviors
– Clarify, validate, and monitor the realization of the desired future state
• Enrollment & Culture Change
– Partner with communications lead to achieve communications objectives
– Design, facilitate, and monitor enrollment process to build commitment across impacted areas
– Design consequence management plan to incent / reward new behaviors and discourage old behaviors
– Develop ways to drive cultural change; shift work and behaviors to support realization goals
– Create stakeholder maps to inform enrollment, stakeholder management, and change networks
• Change Execution Coaching
– Provide sponsorship coaching to prepare leaders to fulfill their roles
– Establish forums for impacted stakeholders to encourage dialogue (reactions, questions)
– Provide change execution skill / knowledge transfer across project teams to build capability across the organization
– Define interventions to involve, make accountable, and integrate different change roles (sponsors, targets, agents, advocates)
Required Skills:
· 8-10 years of experience in training, facilitation, and communications
· Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience (First consideration will be given to those with a degree)
· Detailed understanding of change management methodologies
· Proven track record of success in enabling change and leading process improvement efforts
· Exceptional interpersonal skills
· Ability to effectively influence outcomes, resolve conflict
· Proven written and verbal communication capabilities; comfort at operating at all levels of the organization
· Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently
· Ability to effectively collaborate with other functional areas to achieve overall organizational objectives
Desired Skills:
· Lean Six Sigma familiarity, green / black belt a plus
