THIS IS A FULL TIME PERMANENT ROLE

Clinical Systems Programmer/Analyst

This position is required to meet the needs of both IT employees and customers as they relate to decision support and clinical data analysis/extraction.  This position is responsible for the development of clinical rules and alerts within the Client's EMR system (Cerner) and the development of reports from the EMR to support clinical outcomes and measurements.

This role offers expertise in data analysis concepts to identify appropriate methods of clinical decision support, such as real-time notifications, rules and alerts, and/or long term reporting as well as identifying and validating on-going clinical effectiveness of clinical decision support methods to assume optimal system performance. 

This position will partner with Data Warehouse, Informatics, HIM, department of Safety and Quality and other areas of the organization to develop reports from EMR (Cerner) to support outcomes and measurements initiatives. 

Responsible for analysis, build, testing and support of computerized rules and alerts.  Lead/participate in cross-functional group that reviews approves and prioritizes requested rules and alerts.

Develop data queries and reports per customer specifications.  Perform testing of data quality and performance of reports.

Provide data reports in various formats to meet the needs of the requestor: involves interpretation of the data in summary and detail

Provide on-call and go-live support for various clinical applications projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

-   Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information systems or other related degree  Equivalent experience or alternative training in a related area may substitute for degree

-   Demonstrates advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

-   Experience with using Relational Databases 

-   Outstanding verbal and written skills 

Preferred Qualifications: 

-   Practical experience in inpatient healthcare settings and/or clinical application development

-   Experience with Cerner Command Language (CCL) or a SQL-based querying language

-   Experience with one or more programming language (e.g. JAVA, C++)
