Job Description
The ThinkGeek Overlords are seeking a T-Shirt and Apparel Buyer who will be responsible for growth, profitability and overall awesomeosity of ThinkGeek's apparel line.   And, if you are curious, ThinkGeek is indeed awesome and cookies are a frequent part of our apparel meetings.



Specific responsibilities include:

Source and buy products that fit into the unique ThinkGeek product mix

Merchandise and manage these products on the ThinkGeek website

Creatively coming up with new apparel ideas and trends

React to seasonal / current trends and recognize potential product voids Develop and manage vendor relationshipsWork with customer service and marketing on ThinkGeek's apparel offerings

Work with the Inventory Management group on replenishment

Respond to customer inquiries

Work very closely with ThinkGeek’s Senior Apparel Merchant on growing ThinkGeek and helping to achieve our ultimate goal of World Domination in the geek Apparel space.

Enjoying cookies and the occasional Macaroon. 

Required:

College degree or equivalent

4-6 years’ experience as product manager or buyer (apparel or accessories background strongly preferred)

Highly detail-oriented mentality

Very Proactive on a daily basis.

Strong and agile work ethic that allows you to quickly adapt to changing situations/trends

Ability to deal with vendors (via phone and in person) in difficult circumstances with complete professionalism

Ambitious, creative and aggressive, but equally humble and collaborative

Very strong spreadsheet, computer, and Internet skills

A passion for Internet and geek culture

Ability to travel to various Apparel trade shows or to visit vendors

Strongly Desired:

Experience writing copy for ecommerce and/or geeks

Retail experience

Love of cupcakes and/or cookies
