Physician Assistant (Cardiothoracic) needed 100 miles from Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and DC
Physician Assistant to join a heart institute. The physician assistant (PA) will provide direct patient care under the supervision of the attending physician in cardiothoracic surgery. He or she should also be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that is appropriate to the varied patient population in the OR, cardiac intensive care unit, as well as other areas of the hospital where cardiothoracic surgery services may be required. In addition, he/she must also demonstrate the ability to positively interact with medical ursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Last but not least, the physician assistant must adhere and be responsible for implementing all policies and procedures of Health System Requirements.
The physician assistant (PA) must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, have completed the Maryland requirements for registration as a Physician Assistant or the State of Maryland License must be in good standing, and be National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) eligible/certified. In addition, the PA must be Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified.
