We currently have an exciting opportunity for a .net Programmer in Knoxville, TN. This position is a contract to hire opportunity. The Database Programmer is responsible for software development, implementation, and maintenance on applications varying in size from small departments to large client organizations. They troubleshoot system problems and issues, research and implement improvements to the application.
Responsibilities and prospects for professional growth include:
Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining databases. Provide operational and maintenance support to several existing systems. Responsible for installations, upgrades, back-ups and configurations. Ability to implement database security, perform tuning, monitoring and create policies and procedures. Resolve performance issues, data replication, indexing and data integrity problems
Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design ( stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints )
Extract Transfer and Load data from applications into the data warehouse.
Develop business intelligence solutions using the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack.
Write stored procedures for application logic.
Create reports using SSRS Write stored procedures for reports.
Core database administrative tasks that include creating a new SQL Server instance, adding a new login, and performing database backups.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
Education and experience required:
Associates or Bachelors degree in computer information technology, management information systems, computer programming, computer science or related field preferred
3-7 years experience with relational database software with additional experience with .Net programming framework and Windows based server administration
Software development and maintenance;
Experience in enterprise scale web application development;
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines;
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills;
Ability to work independently with high degree of initiative;
Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making skills;
Excellent customer service skills
