Job Description
Warehouse Supervisor

I. Position Summary
Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight and related factors of items stored. Supervise group of workers engaged in lifting, transporting and loading materials for shipment or storage, while promoting the most efficient and economical use of space for storing and distributing raw material and finished goods. Oversees the processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment. Determines work procedures, prepares schedules and expedites workflow.

Il. Position Responsibilities (Expected Work)

Manage all warehouse activities on assigned shift, which includes processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment.
Regularly cascading and/or communicating site targets and goals from the leadership team to shift crews on a consistent and accurate basis.
Oversee receipt, storage, and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures.
Prepare and coordinate schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space.
Provide support to the plant material planners with accurate inventory balances through plant cycle-count programs.
Play a significant role in developing maintenance solutions to drive department improvements.
Assist in delivering required training to ensure that all coworkers have the necessary skills to perform their jobs properly and safely.
Accountable for the compliance of Company’s delivery and customer service metrics, including the tracking and reporting of shipping and receiving data, keeping shipping costs under control, explaining any variances and establishing action plans to correct issues.
Participate in the development of the annual department budget, and responsible for maintaining department’s budget under control.
Direct department activities in the absence of department manager.
Fostering positive employee relations, including properly interpreting and managing the CBA, if applicable.
Promoting and maintaining a safety oriented culture.

Ill. Challenges

Balance the time needed to drive beneficial change in the department/facility while performing core management duties and satisfying regulatory requirements.
Ability to multi-task proactively and re-prioritize on a daily basis to accommodate the changing business requirements.
Developing inventory control systems to ensure accurate delivery of materials for production support.

IV. Scope

Responsible for the efficient material management of various raw materials, packaging materials and finished SKU’s in a manufacturing environment.







V. Skills & Competencies


Minimum of a undergraduate degree


3 – 5 years experience in manufacturing environment, including significant warehousing experience.

Expertise in production planning, capacity planning, ERP & MRP systems



Ability to work with and through warehouse workers to achieve goals

Ability to solve complex problems
Strong analytical and technical thought process
Proficient in written and verbal instruction and effective presentation skills.

Demonstrates and encourages high standards of behavior.
Empowers, motivates and guides team effectively
Encourages and supports teamwork and participates as a team player.
