Job Description

PROJECT ENGINEER for the oversight of NFPA 805 (new Nuclear Fire Protection Standard). The Project Engineer will provide oversight of the NFPA 805 project, project schedule, driving the station change management plan, facilitating resolutions to open items and holding weekly team meetings. Needs to have the capability to perform and implement NFPA 805 modification packages, while not a primary duty, would facilitate implementation of this new program. Knowledge and experience of fire protection features; detection, suppression, water supply systems, fire dampers, doors and barrier systems and equipment is required. Membership equivalent to SFPE preferred. Circuit analysis and safety system performance analysis associated with Appendix R and plant operational controls for ignition sources and combustible controls are desired. Knowledge and/or experience associated with NRC regulatory requirements associated with 10CFR50.48, Appendix A, Appendix R and NFPA 805. Experience with UFSAR and other regulatory programs are desired. The Engineer will work under the direction of the Nuclear Projects Engineering Manager.

Position Requires: Bachelor Science in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Work Schedule: M-F 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or as necessitated by job requirements. Station does work an Alternate Work Week schedule (9 hour days, with every other Friday off). The position is to be filled ASAP.

Qualifications: Plant Specs & Design Evaluation & Analysis - Basic; BWR & Nuclear Power Plant - Advanced; Master's - Engineering; Planning & Scheduling - Competent; Effective Written Communications - Advanced; Quality Tools & Techniques - Advanced; Decision Making - Competent; Analytical Problem Solving - Expert; Project / team leadership - Competent; Experience in BWR design control is desirable.
