Medical Information Officer (closed)
Our client is an expanding Pharmaceutical company who are genuinely looking for a Medical Information Officer and will appoint without equivocation should the right candidate present. Job Purpose Medical information is responsible for the provision of accurate, relevant, timely information to internal and external customers in accordance to PIPA (Pharmaceutical Information & Pharmacovigilance Association) Guidelines and other associated regulations (.e.g. Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry). This role will be client-facing and involve business development as well as the usual highly-skilled data management capabilities Key Responsibilities: Work alongside the Medical and Brand team members across functions (e.g. Medical Communication) Preparation and consolidation of new clinical data into either new or re-approved standard letters Keep abreast of emerging medical/ scientific information and the potential impact on the business (i.e. horizon scanning activities) Support brand teams with up information on products, disease areas and competitor activity Triage all incoming inquiries, determine priority and escalate complex medical inquiries appropriately to therapeutic teams or management Provision of information to identify and support business development opportunities/ product launches and contribute to the development of marketing campaigns Assist in the maintenance and development of Medical Information IT and Library resources Identification and documentation of adverse event and product quality complaints following departmental procedure Cover Medical Information booth at Scientific congresses (where appropriate) Participates in periodic weekly schedule of 24hour emergency medical information phone coverage (where appropriate) Timely, accurate approval of promotional material in accordance with the relevant Codes of practice (where appropriate) This is not an exhaustive, comprehensive listing of job functions. Position Requirements (knowledge, education, qualifications, number of year's experience etc) Life sciences/ Pharmacy degree desirable Experience in medical information is essential Strong collaboration and influencing skills and ability to effectively work with key stakeholders across multiple functions Strong written and verbal communication in English Ability to prepare and deliver clear and impactful presentations Proficiency in medical writing Willingness to travel Physical Requirements: Travel to congresses to 'man' medical booth and for internal meetings Able to use Microsoft and associated programs at a high level Key Competencies specific to the role Attention to detail Very good understanding of clinical data Customer service focus Ability to manage time effectively Desire to live in the beautiful Scottish Borders.
