Prestigious Enterprise Institution, located in the Western Chicago Suburbs, is currently seeking a Linux Systems Administrator. Candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining operating systems on workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of scientific and business processing requirements. Recognizes and trouble shoots problems with server hardware, operating system and applications software. Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, and schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
3+ years of professional experience.
Knowledge of Linux operating system and Linux system administration: OS installation, monitoring, etc.
Experience with wide variety of hardware types and configurations.
Working knowledge of relational database, networking and RAID storage concepts.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Linux software and hardware issues.
Proficient with shell and Python scripting.
Experience automating tasks.
Experience working in large, complex computing environments.
Virtualization and monitoring tools preferred.
Knowledge of ITIL management framework, and experience using ITIL processes preferred.
