Job Description

Our client in leader in the telecommunications industry is seeking a Sr Cloud Systems Engineer to join their growing team.  Ideal candidate will have a 4yr college degree, strong troubleshooting skills for web, applications and databases, knowledge and understanding of Local and Wide Area Networking as well as 2-5yrs of experience administering mid-sized virtualized server environments. 

Responsibilities:-

Senior Cloud Hosting Systems Engineers are part of the Technical Operations Organization. Role of Engineers include top level remote escalation support for hosting clients which includes general troubleshooting as well as debugging of operational issues for cloud hosting clients. Daily responsibilities include providing top level escalation support for hosting clients, implementations, and projects.-

Position Objectives: -

  • Maintain 99.999% availability for all Cloud Hosting products
    • Interface with support organizations to improve and implement process, procedures and automation
  • Provide excellent support to increase client satisfaction
  • Documentation of infrastructure and procedures

--Essential duties:- -

  • Provide Tier 1-3 support for the Support Center
  • Various types of documentation
  • On call participation with team members
  • Implementations of cloud hosting solutions
  • Maintain hosting infrastructure
  • Client and Infrastructure maintenance
  • Identify resolve and escalate issues according to procedural documentation and training
  • Provide and obtain timely updates to/from relevant parties (internal and external)
  • Manage incidents to resolution in a timely manner
  • Monitor application and Infrastructure environments to quickly identify and resolve incidents
  • Escalation to and Management of vendors for tier 3 & 4 support
  • Ensure that vendors are actively troubleshooting incidents as required
  • Confirm that vendors are adhering to service-level agreements (SLA)

  • Familiarization with ITIL guidelines and practices
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Proven incident and problem solving (troubleshooting) skills with an emphasis on a timely resolution
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with other technologists and business partners to maintain high service levels in a demanding environment
    • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship management skills
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Strong documentation skills
    • Virtualization technologies (AppLogic, VMWare)
    • Linux Operating Systems (RHEL, Fedora, SUSE, RedHat)
    • Windows and Unix Operating Systems

    • Network LAN and WAN, TCP/IP, Cisco, Juniper, Lucent
