Solution Architect

Fortune 500 client seeking a hands-on, technical Senior MS Communications Engineer for their Windows Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 solid years of experience.

This candidate will also be accountable for engineering the Windows Communications infrastructure and related technologies. This includes process governance, maintenance of architecture, communications and related infrastructure software for the Windows platform. This role will also be accountable for the architecture and engineering of Microsoft Exchange, OCS/Lync, and Active Directory Rights Management Services (ADRMS). Ensure platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning. Duties may include capacity planning, workload modeling, system engineering/architecture and diagnostics. Must also have strong technical, written and oral skills to manage a team of engineers. Ability to provide day to day support of the operations and project support to align with enterprise IT initiatives.

Deploy a single, integrated email platform using Microsoft Exchange 2010 for the combined company. Deploy a real-time collaboration platform using Microsoft Lync 2010 Deploy a scalable data protection solution based on Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory Rights Management Services (ADRMS) Life cycle documents for all applicable Windows communication technologies Complete documentation for all MS communications devices and services Ensure all WWindows communications environments meet or exceed industry compliance requirements (e.g. SOX; PCI)

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: • 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Exchange and OCS/Lync in large enterprise, multi-datacenter environments exceeding 50K users. • 5+ experience with group policy, especially security policies • 5+ years leading Windows server based initiatives for complex, global organizations. • Expert level knowledge of Active Directory Sites and Services, including Bridge Head servers and Replication Connectors • Expert level knowledge of Forest and Domain Trusts and Federation • Expert level knowledge of Windows DNS, DHCP and WINS, including hosts and lmhosts files • Expert level knowledge of protocols such as: Kerberos, TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, Routing (RIP, OSPF) • Expert level knowledge of Windows server operating systems (NT/2000/2003/2008/2008 R2) • Expert level knowledge of server hardware: HP, Dell, and IBM to include blade technologies • Must possess advanced troubleshooting skills including: AD replication, FRS issues • Experience integrating Windows environments with 3rd party DNS servers (e.g. Infoblox)

PREFFERED TECHNICAL SKILLS: • Windows Certificate services and PKI • Firewall experience • LDAP and Secure LDAP • Scripting - PowerShell, VB Script, Batch • Networking Hardware – LAN Cards, NIC Teaming, Switches • Advanced Microsoft and Cisco certifications

EDUCATION (highly preferred): • BS in Computer Science or Engineering • Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
