Client is looking for a Oracle System DBA for a 6+ months project in Downtown NYC.

Location: Downtown NYC

Duration:6+ months

Title:  Oracle System DBA

Description: 

• Perform database installations, upgrades and configuration;
• Set up backup and recovery procedures for databases;
• Design, test and implement Oracle high availability solutions;
• Perform periodic exercises to validate backup and recovery procedures;
• Perform maintenance, monitoring and tuning of databases;
• Monitor production data processes, performance and database capacity issues;
• Provide support in database design and application development;
• Administer and monitor database security;
• Develop, implement and maintain DBA policies, procedures/manuals;
• Participate in the configuration, installation, testing/evaluation, implementation, monitoring administration of all servers/systems including offsite contingency systems; Assist with security administration for the Group’s computers and applications;
• Assist in ad hoc projects, assignments and responsibilities as necessary; and Participation in rotating off hours, weekend and contingency site coverage.

Knowledge:  Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Oracle Database Administration with specific focus on:

• Oracle 9i and 10g
• Oracle OEM
• Import / Export
• Data Guard
• RMAN
• Standby Database (Physical / Logical)
• Instance and Application Tuning
• Instance data file management and tuning
• Strong knowledge of Oracle fundamentals
• Instance and data security
• Working Knowledge of Oracle pl/sql
• Strong command of the English Language, both oral and written
• Excellent self-tasking skills.

Additional Qualifications   

Practical experience with one or more of the following preferred, but not required:

•        Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters)

•        Data Warehouse

Additional info:
