ANALYST ASSISTANT
 
Our client is an investment management firm seeking an administrative analyst assistant.

The ideal candidate for the role should possess the following characteristics and qualifications:

  • Associates / Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience strongly preferred
  • 5+ years direct administrative support experience, preferably to a user group or C-level executive
    financial services experience preferred
    strong work ethic and interpersonal skills 
  • consummate professional, proven track record of successful relationships at all levels of an organization
  • exceptional teamwork and service orientation
  • outstanding thoroughness, attention to detail, and high level of accuracy in work product
  • thrive in a deadline oriented environment and demonstrate superior time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills
  • proven track record of excellent discretion and ability to handle confidential professional and personal information
  • ability to work independently while at the same time work effectively in a collaborative structure within the Analyst Support team and with personnel throughout every level of the company
  • willingness and desire to take on additional work, as necessary, to aid team success and provide the highest quality service
  • experience mentoring and providing general guidance to more junior colleagues a plus 
  • strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • advanced-level Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • familiarity with Bloomberg and other research services helpful but not required

This position is a member of the five-person support team that assists an active trading room, specifically the firm's investment analysts. This position is not a training ground for future investment analysts, but rather offers challenging work and a dynamic environment for the highly skilled administrative assistant who takes satisfaction in supporting others, considers this type of work their professional calling, and is looking for a stable, long-term opportunity.
 
The specific responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • screen and direct various communications, including answering and directing incoming calls, distributing faxes, monitoring emails, and assisting with the organization and circulation of mail
  • assist with analyst calendars, travel, and meeting arrangements
    prepare analyst expense reports
  • draft various correspondences, as requested
  • maintain various company databases, contacts, and files
  • collect and organize company research and filings using Bloomberg, Reuters, StreetEvents, Edgar, The Markets.com and Bond Hub
  • assist with training and orientation of new hires
  • serve as resource and role model to junior teammates
  • ad hoc projects and tasks as requested; proactive initiative toward incomplete work required
