Portlet Factory Developer - Dallas, TX - Long term contract
We are looking for a passionate, energetic member of an agile team to play a key role in the creation of a new website for a leading airline's cargo division. The application will be built using IBM’s Portlet Factory and will run on WebSphere Application Server. The system will integrate with back-end systems through a JEE services layer and/or Web Services. This developer will be focused on the front-end creation of the website using Portlet Factory. They must have strong technical skills as well as be a good communicator, and have an eye for technical excellence. Individuals who are able to contribute in all aspects of the development lifecycle as well as being committed, passionate members of a highly collaborative team will excel.
Skills / Experience
• 1-2 years WebSphere Portlet Factory Development experience
• WebSphere Portlet Factory 6.1.5 or greater required
• Experience using WebSphere Portlet Factory Version 7 beneficial
• Experience with debugging and optimizing Portlet Factory code
• Exposure to development and use of custom WebSphere Portlet factory builders
• Java, JEE, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, DOJO, SOA, Web Services, WSDL.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem solving skills
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to mentor others and work very closely with a larger development team of differing skillsets
• Experience and understanding of test driven development
• Experience using Portlet Factory to create non-portal applications is a plus
• Experience with the agile process is a plus
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop new software modules in an iterative way that will collectively form a larger application
• Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
• Estimate work to be done as part of an overall agile process
• Coordinate application implementation and test functionality to ensure specifications are met
