Job Description

Senior Business Analyst

My client’s number one goal is to improve business performance and to help them in streamlining operations through efficient business process and IT Solutions to help reduce business costs. The goal is to improve the overall operations and position them for growth.

Summary:

The Senior Business Analyst will perform business and systems analysis throughout the organization. Assisting customers in the application of information technology to meet their business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintains knowledge of customer business areas, their processes and systems.

Works with project and business teams to understand business needs and gather requirements.

Evaluates information harvested through surveys and workshops, task analysis, and business process description

Documents requirements for developing and implementing online education courses

Conducts analysis of business/systems requirements and uses the latest analysis/diagramming tools (i.e. Gap Analysis, conducting Joint Applications Development (JAD) sessions, etc.) to represent business/technical processes.

Analyzes problems and detailed requirements to define the proposed solution and scope. Validates and prioritizes work items and coordinates delivery, as needed.

Collaborates with project team members; liaises between technical and business team members.

Able to effectively communicate with external clients and internal teams to deliver GUI, interface and screen designs

Assists in identifying and implementing team process improvements; shares information with other analysts and core team members.

Preferred Experience:

  • Superior organization and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to establish and provide leadership for project management methods.
  • Extensive experience with the working environment which applies to the scope of projects to be managed (may include software development, information technology or business process projects).
  • Effectively communicates technical concepts to non-technical staff and business concepts or requirements to technical staff. Ability to anticipate client needs and provide consultation in defining system requirements and proposed solution.
  • Anticipates problems, takes action to mitigate them, and demonstrates superior problem solving ability; escalates appropriately.
  • Ability to mentor other staff.
