The client

My client is a local company that specialised in the design of bulk material handling systems for the mining and minerals sectors. Despite being smaller than its competitors my client has secured extensive business pipeline and are working on prominent projects around the world with clients in Africa, Asia and Europe. You will spend most of the time based in the JHB office but you will also get to visit various sites gaining excellent international experience

The role

• Hands on design and calculations, you will perform in depth calculations and analysis
• Lead a team of junior mechanical design engineers supplying mentorship and guidance where necessary. You will gain management experience whilst occupying a technical role
• Travel to clients to asses design requirements and ensure clients needs are met (travel will not exceed 1 week per month)

Requirements

BSc degree in Mechanical engineering and Professional registration are a must for this role and so is South African citizenship / Residency. You will have 7+ years mechanical design experience with in the mining or related industries with experience in bulk materials handling systems being a major advantage.

Remuneration

Ballpark figures range from R 750K ctc for someone with 5 years experience to R 1Million+ ctc for professionals with around 10 years experience
