Job Description
Director, Actuary
DUTIES: Manage the Economic Capital calculation with corporate functions such as Treasury, ALM, and each of the business unit. Build, update, and review the models needed to measure Economic Capital. Lead the valuation of assets and insurance liabilities as well as non-insurance liabilities consistent with the developing IFRS standards. Oversee calculation of different levels of diversification benefits within and across risks and business units. Review shock scenarios using the Economic Scenario Generator and other tools. Propose refinements and enhancements to the current framework and tools, including improving replicating portfolio process, interest rate and credit models. Use MG-Alfa, and/or Triton, as well as Visual Basic for Excel Macros.
Qualifications
REQTS: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Economics (any), Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Mathematics, or related plus four (4) years of experience in the position offered or as an Associate Actuary, Senior Actuarial Associate, Actuarial Analyst, Actuarial Associate, or related. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in an acceptable field plus 7 years of experience in the position offered or related. Must have 3 years of experience with life insurance financial reporting & analysis using STAT & GAAP. Must have experience using actuarial statistics/assumptions for ratemaking, loss reserving and forecasting using MG-Alfa and/or Triton, and Excel/VBA. Must have FSA, or near-FSA with all the post-ASA exams passed.
