Senior Project Geologist - Vancouver
 
This Junior Exploration firm is currently operating as a mineral exploration company which is managed by an experienced team of professionals with a solid track record of exploration success. The Company is currently advancing its Kwanika copper-gold project, exploring its extensive portfolio of properties in the highly prospective Quesnel Trough of British Columbia, and has initiated exploration for gold-silver deposits in Mexico.  As a result of growth within the company due to ongoing success and a JV being signed with a leading international Mining name they are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Project Geologist.
 
As the successful applicant you will be responsible for planning and managing exploration projects, as well as working with senior management to identify and evaluate new exploration and business opportunities. As the Senior Project Geologist you will be part of the team working on a number of key Exploration Projects and be responsible for Logging Core from the Exploration area, updating the Exploration Database to maintain their records and being able to correlate Exploration Drilling information into the GIS Database and being able to interpret the results to further the Exploration program.
 
In this role you will also be required to travel to site to aid the Exploration team and supervise to Drilling crews to make sure that the Exploration project is on time and on budget.
 
To be successful in this role you will utilise your Academic qualifications in Geology and preferably have a MSc in a related geological topic. You will also demonstrate a solid track record in conducting Exploration projects in 6 - 10 years of being in the industry working on in technical roles within the exploration and/or mining industry. You will be a natural leader and have sound project management experience and a firm understanding of geological and exploration principles with respect to hydrothermal mineral deposits; focus on porphyry and epithermal deposits is considered an asset. Being an experienced Exploration Geologist you will also show technical competency with GIS mapping programs (ArcGIS, Mapinfo, GEMS, etc). Having a working knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
 
 
The successful candidate will have a solid technical foundation, a business orientation, and a keen interest in helping the company to both advance its current projects and progress new exploration ventures. Work schedule will include a mix of field and office work. Position will be based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
