Junior Software Scientist/R&D Software Engineer – Java/J2EE/C++ - audio/video cool research

Long-time Bivium hire with most of the team placed by me over the years. Small, insulated group, part of a large publicly traded company – best of both worlds!

The Research and Science Technology Group in Boston is responsible for the ongoing R&D of video and audio applications.

As a member of a small team of research and development engineers you will work both independently and in teams developing a complex multimedia server application using such technologies as J2EE, Javascript/jQuery, and C/C++.

Successful candidates should have experience in all aspects of software development, including conducting OO Analysis & Design, testing and debugging. Candidate must be comfortable working independently and as part of a group. In addition to the technical skills mentioned above, the successful candidate will have a proactive personality, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field, from a top University (absolute must)

• 1-7+ years’ of professional development experience building web applications, including client-side technologies such as Javascript, CSS, and jQuery.

• Experience with Java EE, Groovy/Grails, SQL, XSLT/XPath, DOM, JUnit.

• Experience with C/C++, Perl, Python, JSF, Search/Indexing technologies, IDEA, Subersion, MySQL 5, Sun Grid Engine.

• Excellent communication skills.
