Immediate openings for experienced full time hospitalists. This is an employed position. Candidate must be internal medicine trained board certified/eligible required. Join a dynamic team of 18 hospitalists and 2 mid-level providers who provide around the clock care for the vast majority of all medical admissions to this 250 bed hospital. Hospitalists work a block scheduled 5 on 5 off and rotate between teams covering medical units and ED admissions. 9 Hospitalists are scheduled during a 24 hour period, 6 on the day shift 8a-6p, 1 swing shift noon-10p and two over night shifts 6p – 6a and 8p – 8a. Up to 24 night shifts/year. Typical census 15-18 patients/hospitalist. 27-40 admissions/day, average 10 per shift. ICU coverage is required with intensivist backup (round twice/day) 12 bed unit with 10-12 CVICU overflow. Hospitalists respond to codes on all inpatient adult units ACLS required. Procedures may be performed with specialist backup as requested.
