Job Description
Position

As a Core Network Architect, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing systems for the company's customers. You will be responsible for understanding the customer requirements and then design solutions using the company's products and when required, partner products. You will work side by side with the program manager in all customer implementations ensuring successful realization of your designs. In this role, you will be an important member of the Operations team and will be responsible for overall technical success of the company's project implementation.

  • Design end-to-end (GSM/UMTS Core Network) location systems using the company's products and partner products, as needed.
  • Responsible for technical aspects of end-to-end solutions delivery, deployment, system integration, and customer acceptance of the project.
  • Act as a prime point of contact with the customer for all technical issues during all post-sales phases including system integration and customer acceptance.
  • Support the project/program manager for project planning, scheduling, technical risk assessment, and mitigation.
  • Lead on-site troubleshooting efforts, and work with engineering and development teams for quick issue resolution.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all the company's products and associated third party products.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant emerging technologies.
  • Prepare technical training material, and deliver training programs to external customers.
  • Interface with external third party vendors and internal cross functional teams (engineering and R&D) to ensure on-time delivery of technical solutions, and compliance with product specifications as per RFP response.

 

Experience
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or technologically relevant field
  • Minimum of 15 years of combined experience in system integration and/or network deployment.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience working for a GSM or UMTS carrier and/or wireless infrastructure vendor.
  • Very good understanding of various wireless standards for GSM and UMTS for radio and core network elements, network architecture, and protocols.
  • Hands-on work experience with radio and core network nodes (RNC, BSC, MSC, HLR, SGSN) of various vendors and interoperability with understanding of end-to-end call flow.
  • Experience with location technologies deployment, probe deployment, system integration, and ability to design location technology solutions for carriers preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to prepare and present comprehensive presentations to customers at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to succeed in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of time.
