About the Role
This position is located at our New England Development Center in Nashua, New Hampshire. We are seeking a hands-on development engineer with a passion for high performing and quality code with extensive experience in system-level or server development. As a member of the Data Guard Group, you will be working to improve products that solve real-life customer problems and continuously add value for our customers. You will solve problems related to performance, scalability, concurrent programming, fault detection and automatic recovery. You will be working in the Oracle database kernel.
Candidates will be responsible for:
- Creating new state of the art features
- Creating highly scalable and high performing code to implement the solutions.
- Working closely with Product Managers, Quality Assurance, Documentation teams.
- Coming up with innovative ideas to improve the products.
About the Successful Candidate
The successful candidate is a self-motivated individual who can deal with complex problems under minimal supervision. She/he has strong programming skills in either C or C++ and is able to come up with creative ideas and deliver quality and robust solution in a timely fashion. Qualifications for this position are:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong C or C++ programming skills
- Effective Communication skills and very strong problem resolution skills
- Knowledge of database internals a plus
- Strong systems background a plus
