Qualifications:

-       Associates Degree of Nursing with 3 years’ RN experience, 1 year being progressive management experience OR Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing with 2 years’ nursing experience, 1 year being progressive management

-       Current RN license

-       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

-       Must be able to set priorities, organize work, delegate duties, and objectively evaluate and implement opportunities for improvement.

Job Summary:

The Unit Nurse Manager provides direct & indirect patient care through the use of the nursing process and is accountable for the practice as defined by law. Plans, organizes & coordinates patient care activities. Maintains harmonious inter and intra-departmental relationships and applies management concepts of planning, organizing, directing and staffing. The Nurse Manager utilizes communications theory, group dynamics, counseling methodologies and clinical nursing judgment to implement clinical nursing programs in defined areas. Maintains current nursing skills and demonstrates the ability to work within nursing organizational guidelines. Participates as a patient care advisor, assigns duties to nursing personnel within the scope of their ability and evaluates performance of Unit Nursing Staff. Follows the guidelines described in the Code of Conduct Ethics and Compliance Program.
