| Primary Purpose | Supports internal and external clients in various projects assigned. The Backhaul Market Manager serves as the liaison between ongoing project work and procedural requirements. Must have Microwave & Fiber background. The Market Manager facilitates the smooth administration of projects in coordination with the Business Manager. He or she must understand the administrative and execution requirements of the project's contract, the execution requirements of all related subcontracts and procurement agreements, the needs and progress of the crews in the field and the internal constraints, policies and procedures that must be followed to ensure compliance with division and corporate standards. This position demands a high attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time. The Market Manager must have a solid understanding of change orders, contract requirements and submittal requirements, and the ability to identify changes and initiate change requests. The Market Manager will have responsibility for meeting site acquisition, engineering and/or construction cost budgets and schedules. He or she must effectively update internal and external clients on the progress of multiple sites and any areas of concern. He or she must have experience in coordinating, interacting and making decisions in the areas of site acquisition, engineering and/or construction. |
| Principal Duties and Responsibilities | . Oversees project schedule to ensure deadlines are met. Monitors productivity and schedule performance. Resolves schedule issues or conflicts with client and coordinate approval for necessary action to meet schedule requirements. Responsible for meeting quality requirements of both internal and external demands. . Executes work at or below established cost budgets for materials, subcontracted services and internal staffing. . Actively participates in the planning, selecting, assigning and supervising of key staff and project personnel. . Supervises assigned staff, including: establishing and communicating performance expectations, provides positive and constructive feedback, conducts performance reviews and determines training and development needs and makes hiring and terminating decisions. . Monitors and provides leadership to maximize morale, motivation, recognition, training and development of project personnel. . Identifies and assesses opportunities for improvement. Supports change management associated with implementation of improvements; encourages, supports and facilitates staff to engage in continual improvement activities. . Maintains a high degree of customer service and integrity when dealing with clients . Carries out other duties or special projects as assigned by Supervisor . Directs the day-to-day execution of each project Management Responsibilities Responsibilities include management of a project team. The individuals comprising this team may vary by project. |
| Minimum Qualifications | . BS degree in engineering, project management, business or other technical related field, or equivalent related and demonstrated job experience . Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skill . Adheres to, supports and enhances the Division's Environmental, Safety, Health and Security Program . Adheres to, supports and enhances the Division's Quality Management System . Minimum 10 years of project management experience preferably in the telecommunications industry. . Significant attention to detail and organization required. . Handle multiple projects simultaneously. . Ability to read and understand contractual agreements * This requires knowledge and proven experience with Backhaul Microwave & Fiber |
