Test Automation Lead

Automates, executes, and maintains test scripts using HP Quick Test Pro and HP Quality Center. Configures and maintains HP Quality Center database. Monitors daily software builds and collaborates with programmer analysts to resolve build failures.

Role qualifications:

An employee in this position performs responsible technical and professional work under limited supervision. The work, which entails various priorities and tasks, is performed in a team setting under continuous time constraints. The employee must have the ability to develop complex instructional written materials, follow complex verbal and written instructions, and use a PC, with or without reasonable accommodation. This job also requires frequent exposure to confidential information. Experience leading a team is required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Automates test cases using HP Quick Test Pro and Quality Center
• Executes and maintains existing test scripts
• Monitors daily software builds and collaborates with programmer analysts to resolve failures
• Configures and maintains HP Quality Center database
• Participates in biweekly team meetings and planning meetings as needed
• Aids in the training of QA team members by sharing system matter expertise
• Other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Essential skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two years of demonstrated test automation experience or four to six years of demonstrated test automation experience
• Understanding of general programming basics
• Demonstrated expertise with VBScript
• Basic understanding of XML
• Demonstrated proficiency with writing batch files (.bat) and DOS commands
• Demonstrated expertise with HP Quality Center interface and HP Quick Test Pro interface
• Understanding of basic software testing methodologies
• Software Testing Certification (CTFL) through ASTQA or (CSTE) through QAI Worldwide preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel) or Open Office suite (Writer and Calc)
• Windows-based and web-based applications testing
• Ability to work independently with little guidance and collectively within a team environment
• Adapts easily to changes in assignment, priority, and work environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication and analysis skills
• Presentation and training experience preferred
