External Job Description:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
14 Years with Bachelors in Engineering (ABET Accredited); 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD.
The candidate will serve as an Engineering Data Architect representative with roles and responsibilities to perform overarching Business Process Management activities from a software application integration standpoint. The Engineering System Architect will serve as a lead member of the Shared Data Environment (SDE) Integrated Data and Security Model Governance (IDSMG) team responsible for:
• Identifying/Reviewing SED requirements relative to production software application data models (Teamcenter, NX, CATIA, I2, SAP, DMU, etc).
• Identifying/Reviewing business requirements relative to the security model and data access controls.
• Defining SDE overarching data and security models required for NNS.
• Maintenance of the Data Element Dictionary (DED) and documentation of the data models (TC, NX, others…) that articulates definition, data format, and relationships about each of the NNS Custom object types defined in the data models for production software applications.
The Engineering Data Architect will review business process requirements and data models to minimize the duplication of data, review for potential performance and adverse user impacts, and will propose a “solution” or change necessary to support the business requirement. The Engineering Data Architect will work with IT counterparts and vendors to validate that proposed system/application change is in line with long term strategic plans.
The candidate must have knowledge and through understanding of Teamcenter and NX tool functionality and capability and how to apply these applications to Business Requirements ranging from Engineering & Design to Planning and Manufacturing.
The candidate must be able to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of superior.
The candidate develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and affect the image of the organization technological capability. Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
Skill Set Description:
Candidate must possess strong Systems Engineering principles applied to data architecture, strategic planning, Project/Program Management, procedure development, experience with end-to-end value stream processes and data flow integration.
