The Database Administrator(DBA)provides technical support for District database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies and ensures the operational efficacy and excellence of an organization. Responsible for monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion data requirements and data modeling with the creation of data tables, cubes, data warehouses, and business intelligence tools.Review workflow charts developed by business analyst and programmers to understand tasks computer will perform, such as updating records and transaction processing environment.Develop methods for integrating different products so they work properly together, such as customizing commercial databases to fit specific needs.Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions. Revise company definition of data as defined in data dictionary. Assist in troubleshooting operational and development errors regarding data to ensure user experience is most productive.

Additional Job Information Design and document database architecture using logical and physical data modeling tools. Build database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions.

Minimum Qualifications BA or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred or 5 years of IT experience 5 to 8 years ofexperience as a Database Administrator using Microsoft SQL Server in a clustered environment. Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices Requires district coordination; makes decisions and recommendations, which affect the district employees, students, parents and constituents. Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) or Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD) desired |
