Front-Office Trade Capture & Processing
Role:
Seeking a highly-qualified senior Java developer (AVP/VP) to contribute to
the strategic development initiatives within the Cash Trade
Capture & Processing domain. Leading Investment Bank has embarked-upon a
multi-year, global transformation of its cash trade capture/processing
systems in order to build STP capabilities to satisfy anticipated growth in
the cash trading business.
The group is looking for a proactive, results-oriented individual with a
broad technical background and strong analytical and problem-
solving skills. This role is for a mid- to senior-level developer who will
be part of a team responsible for implementing high-quality,
performance and robust technology solutions based on technical
specifications produced by technical business analysts. The developer
will interact with various IT teams in NY, London, Moscow and other
locations in order to deliver tightly integrated global solutions. The
successful candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work independently
with minimal supervision and will have a strong sense of
teamwork and personal responsibility.

Principle Duties:
* Hands-on development in connection with building the next-generation,
globally integrated cash trade capture/processing environment
* Engage and communicate with development teams and program managers to
define and plan system enhancements needed to
advance the relevant programs of work
* Regularly communicate progress and issues to technology management

Requirements:
* 5+ years professional development experience
* 5+ years in hands-on core Java development
* Technical requirements:
* Core Java
* JDBC, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle (or any commercial RDBMS)
* Knowledge of Unix/Linux, shell scripting
* Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with front-office
business, program/project managers, senior team leads and business
analysts
* Motivated self-starter and able to work independently
* Very strong work ethic
* Knowledge of or interest in learning about fixed income products
* Minimum of a BA/BS in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution

Desirable:
* Familiarity with investment banking culture and work ethic
* Experience in STP trading environments at major investment banks
* Relevant professional experience in the trade capture/processing domain
* Knowledge of quantitative concepts relating to debt and other capital
markets
* Understanding of the cash trade lifecycle, from capture, matching,
allocations to settlements
* J2EE, JMS, Spring, WebLogic, JBoss, StreamBase
