Dickson Resources ( http://dicksonresources.com ) is looking for a TFS (Team Foundation Server) Build and Release Engineer for a 3+ months contract to hire project to build a complex build and release system for a growing .NET software development team.

The TFS Build and Release Engineer will be responsible for ensuring stable, controlled migration of software and networking changes into the production environment using Team Foundation Server 2010. Works with Quality Assurance and Development to coordinate and implement changes. Creates and deploys the build processes, coordinates product build schedules for release into production, and works with development to resolve problems. 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

* Defining and implementing departmental build and branching strategies
* Assessing, defining, developing and deploying build process improvements, using Team Foundation Server 2010
* Customizing and administering Team Foundation Server 2010
* Working with Quality Assurance and Development organizations in order to create project and sustaining branching strategies
* Automating the build process as much as possible in order to streamline the multi platform build process and reduce build and configuration errors
* Creating and deploying tools that will unite, automate and monitor the build process
* Ensuring that the build process is scalable and easy to understand
* Clearly documenting the build process and branching strategies
* Coordinate build schedules between Development, Quality Assurance and management
* Creating internal release builds for Development, Quality Assurance
* May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills and Experience:

* 4-5 years in software development or build/release management
* Experience with NANT and with migration of source code and build tools into TFS 2010
* Experience working with non-Windows platforms in a TFS 2010 environment 
* Extensive experience in using and customizing Team Foundation Server 2010
* Experience in build release engineering, both in automating and in monitoring builds, and in software configuration management
* Experience in defining, implementing and maintaining complex branching strategies
* Knowledge of all phases of the software development lifecycle
* Ability to work in fast-paced environment with many software releases on many platforms
* Ability to do extensive scripting and have excellent knowledge of InstallScript and InstallShield 2010
* Experience in setting up automated builds systems as well as monitoring systems
* Experience with Microsoft Virtual Server, Microsoft IIS, Win 2003/2008 Server
* Good knowledge of C# and .Net 3.5
* Able to generate reports from TFS using SQL reporting services
* Experience in TFS team site (on WSS)
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
* Excellent time management, decision making and organization skills
* Must be able to work well with others as part of a team
