Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform RTM/Solution Analysis
  • Develop Project Plan
  • Responsible for Project Staffing and Resource allocation
  • Responsible for coordination of tasks between Engineering and other groups
  • Responsible for the review and analysis of Engineering Solutions
  • Provides SQA/UAT support
  • Ensures that solutions provided fit into the overall architecture
  • Ensures that solutions provided are flexible, extensible and scalable
  • Motivate staff to deliver quality projects within project constraints
  • Develops and adapts quality software engineering processes that allow the team to provide solutions in our challenging environment within project constraints
  • Lead projects for technologies or systems that may lay outside your background
  • Identify the risks and plan mitigation for the project(s)
  • Communicate/escalate the project issues to the management as appropriate
  • Support Company and Department Goals
  • Display a commitment to deliver systems in a timely matter according to business need
  • Provide support as needed to production systems ensuring that both internal and external client’s needs are met
  • Aggressively work to provide solutions to challenges as they arise
  • Possess a positive and constructive attitude


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience leading teams and projects
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of the required toolsets including Visual Studio, SQL Server Manager, Internet Information Manager, Team Foundation Server and others as necessary to perform the task assigned
  • Skill in logical program construction, database concepts and interaction, reporting techniques, troubleshooting, and web-based technologies
  • Skill in computer application programming and web-based programming
  • Experience with high-volume web based applications and concepts (SSO, Session Cache, High Availibility, etc).
  • .NET3.5+ - C#.NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, WEB SERVICES; Version control / TFS
  • AJAX, HTML/ CSS (Classic VB/ASP is a nice to have)
  • MVC / WPF knowledge is strongly desired; ORM mapping like Entity Framework would be a plus
  • Sharepoint integration, development of customer web parts would be a plus
  • Skill, from an application development standpoint, in operating the desktop computer environment, including Windows 7 and Windows Server
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information with various levels of constituents
  • Ability to use and facilitate online communications


Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited university in computer science/programming and 2 years of experience as a software developer/engineer, or
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university in computer science/programming and 4 years of experience as a software developer/engineer, or
  • Associate’s degree and 6 years experience as a software developer/ engineer
  • MCPD/ MCAD/ MCSD / Developer certification is preferred
  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
