Job Description

Procom has a contract opportunity for a Project Manager. The project manager is within our client's Online Banking program.  The project manager will ensure the successful implementation of the technical solution including the preparation of project management documentation as required by the Program leadership.  The estimated at 6 months, which includes integration work in the recently announced acquisition.  The position will report functionally to the Head of the Program & Project Management Office. The position will also matrix to the Program Director for  Online Banking Program and the Technology Lead for the Integration Management Office.

Project Description:

The purpose of the project is to deliver functional enhancements to on-line banking platform needed to achieve parity with the newly aquired on-line banking platform.  Functionality includes

  1. Out of Band Authentication
  2. American Disability Act Compliance
  3. E-Mail Management
  4. Alerts via SMS
  5. External Transfers
  6. Wires
  7. Branch Enrollment
  8. ODP Enhancements

 

Role Description: The senior project manager demonstrates an in-depth understanding of Enterprise strategies and initiatives, and delivers large-scale and complex project(s) or program(s) that create the intended value for the organization, while communicating the organizational impacts. The senior project manager is accountable for overseeing all functions relating to the activities of Project Managers and their teams, and is accountable for the creation of new or changed deliverables (i.e., product, service, or process), of varying size and complexity. Directing, managing, and coordinating team members may include other senior project manager, project managers, and resources for multiple projects, including resources from other COMPANY areas, user groups, internal and external consultants and contractors, as well as, vendors and external regulatory organizations.

Accountabilities

  • Ensures the creation of project deliverables, with the specified level of quality for the project sponsors, on time and within budget, by coordinating resources and controlling the project(s) or program(s)
  • Manages the activities of project(s) or program(s) to align with a strategic direction, and communicates executive expectations to the project team in order to translate strategic plans into program deliverables
  • Reviews and oversees planning, preparation, and maintenance of project or program schedules in order to meet COMPANY standards
  • Uses proper planning and monitoring techniques to control project or program costs
  • Prepares program documentation and roll-up reports, that takes into consideration management expectations, so that relevant information is communicated to management
  • Communicates with and engages project sponsors and other stakeholders to ensure adequate representation on the project
  • Manages differences in scope, schedule, and cost priorities between projects, various stakeholder groups, and project teams, in order to resolve conflicts
  • Creates and communicates models for project(s) or program(s) control and governance in order to gain executive approval for their use
  • Negotiates highly complex contracts with multiple vendors, or negotiates for large resource pools with internal organizations, to fulfill the project needs
  • Provides leadership, motivation, coaching, and professional development to project teams in order to obtain a high level of co-operation and contribution from all project members
  • Contributes to improve the best practices of the project management community within the Enterprise to help maintain project management professionalism
  • Coordinates and facilitates various committee meetings to ensure appropriate engagement by key governance bodies
Knowledge and skills
  • Possesses a university degree/college diploma and/or 12+ years of related work experience
  • Possesses expert knowledge and a minimum 10+ years of experience specifically in project management of which 5 years prior experience as a senior project manager (i.e., within the previous five years has successfully completed 2 large-scale projects of moderate to high risk/complexity and 1 large-scale project of high risk/complexity or 2 large-scale projects of high risk/complexity)
  • Has obtained Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute or equivalent experience
  • Exhibits an expert ability to impact and influence project outcomes
  • Is able to handle multiple priorities
  • Is able to build a strong network and relationships at executive levels with Business Executives, Technology, customer, and vendor groups
  • Demonstrates expert skills in team leadership and conflict management
  • Displays consistent flexibility, resilience, and resourcefulness
  • Demonstrates courage and self-confidence in dealing with program issues and in broadly communicating project/program information across the organization
